AMIS releases AMIS Pro Public Beta v1
AMIS, the Additive Manufacturing Jetting Software provider, announces the release of the Public Beta version 1 of their “AMIS Pro” software. This version is temporarily offered for free through a dedicated webpage.
With this approach, the company aims at garnering user feedback early in the development process. Interested end-users and OEMs will therefore be asked to provide their feedback.
“Even though there’s 25 years of experience in jetting software development in the team, we consider ourselves a start-up now. And with over 25 years of start-up experience in the team, we know there’s only one right way, and that’s the customers’ way”, says Kris Binon, aptly labelled ‘XYZ Manager’. Bearing this in mind, they decided to take Customer Feedback Management one step further.
Their experience also explains why AMIS is rather confident about releasing this beta version, explains Nick De Roeck, AMIS CEO: “when meeting OEM’s and end-users, we‘ve established that even the current version would add value to some of them. From here onwards, we’ll continue implementing the 30+ additional features on our roadmap. For quite some of those, we can leverage technology provided by our parent company, Hybrid Software Group.”. According to De Roeck, this will enable AMIS to maintain the current pace of development.
AMIS Pro v1 Public Beta includes the features allowing to prepare a batch for printing. This entails: adding parts to a batch / print box, position-orient-scale the parts, nest the parts, slice the batch and create output for a printer. Also, some additional functionalities are included, such as saving and reopening batches, defining layer thickness, setting up printers, etc. In other words: AMIS is already a functional “CAD in, print out” system. The connection with METEOR INKJET METPRINT Software guarantees smooth transition of the data to the printheads.
Binon elaborates on the logic behind the AMIS Pro software: “We’ve designed the software with a workflow logic in mind: which steps does the person in charge of preparing builds take? What tools does he need under his fingers at which point in time? That in itself differentiates our product, as well as the injection of decades of experience producing industrial jetting software.”
“AMIS Pro 1 Public Beta” will be available for a free 60-day trial from www.amispro.be/PublicBeta from Monday May 6th onwards.
