Ghent, 22/10/2024 - After being the first company in the world installing an HP MJF printer, 3iD Printing of Belgium is now the first print service to run AMIS Pro software to prepare its batches.
In collaboration with multiple HP MJF users, AMIS has been developing its Build Preparation solution “AMIS Pro”. The AMIS software is specifically focused on Jetting Technology – a logical choice given the decades-long jetting software expertise from its parent holding, Hybrid Software Group.
Although AMIS Pro v2 will be officially launched at Formnext 2024 only, 3iD has been a partner in development since early 2024. They confirm that AMIS Pro, even in its current version, is the tool they need to successfully prepare their batches –for their 3 HP MJF printers.
“The nesting algorithm is astonishing – we gain a lot of time here, and we can nest much denser now. This has an immediate impact on our Cost Per Part,” Says Dave Vanhove, CEO at 3iD. For him, “AMIS Pro is already a successful investment”. Kris Binon, AMIS Managing director at AMIS, elaborates: “AMIS now nests any 1500 parts in an MJF Build Box in under one minute, with a 14% nesting density. This is over 50% denser than the benchmark, which takes about 10 minutes to reach 8 – 9% nesting density.”
Vanhove continues: “Of course you have full control over the manipulation of individual parts and all the usual features – shelling, lattices, etcetera. And we end up with a perfect 3mf file that we can just forward to the HP MJF printer.”
When asked for what he appreciates the most in AMIS Pro, the 3iD production manager Brandon says: “The fact that it’s so straightforward. The UI has all the features we need, while being an effortless and fast experience.”

AMIS Pro was released earlier this year. Its version 1.5, boasting amongst other the upgraded nesting and part transfer to next batch, was released on September 16.
